After a long summer of lots of solar observing as well as some forced downtime of my larger scope the CPC1100 due to me shorting out one of the circuit boards, poor weather and hectic work schedule, I was finally able to get some video astronomy in at my clubs monthly observing session. It was a rather large group of attendees, around 50 people including guests. After resolving a few technical issues, I was up and running showing off some favorite late summer objects such as M16 The Eagle Nebula (not my best M16 capture – 48 seconds) M27 The Dumbbell Nebula (45 seconds) and the Ring Nebula (always a great hit with the public thru any scope but when they see it in color, it’s awesome!
Clear and Steady Skies!
