M16 – The Eagle Nebula
My MK-III camera was recently upgraded (for free) by the manufacture of the AVS camera to the MK-IV. From the Almost Heaven Star Party in West Virginia, I shot M16, The Eagle Nebula, with my Astro Video Systems MKIV video camera at f/2.8 with my Celestron CPC 1100 telescope. I used an IR cut filter to try to bring out the nebulosity of m16. While I am quite happy with the sensitivity of the camera, the lack of amp glow and the internal camera processing, I’m not happy with the distortion/coma in the image. I believe it is due to the vario-reducer not being completely adjusted for my camera.
